Today, Hanson & Fitch received a call from Robert Vargas at the Seville Group of Monterey County.
Robert needed around 500 feet of temporary fence for Cesar Chavez Elementary School in Salinas, CA. He also needed some custom gates built for the job and we would need to install the temporary fence first and then measure the openings in which to make the gates.
The challenging aspect of the job was the fact that all of the temporary fence need to be driven into asphalt - much more time consuming than setting temporary fence panels in stands.

Hanson & Fitch Temporary Site Services is currently installing temporary fence on and around (3) three golf courses on the Monterey Peninsula for the up and coming AT&T Golf Event.
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is a 72-hole PGA TOUR golf championship dating back to the 1930’s when Bing Crosby gathered a ‘few friends’ to raise money for charity… and have a little fun.
Monterey and Pebble Beach are known for golf. Stunning views, exclusive clubs, prime real estate and incredible landscapes have long attracted the rich and famous. The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro AM is played in the first months of
each new year and is a hot ticket for tourists. Golf greats like Phil Mickelson. Vijay Singh, Justin Leonard and others play the Pebble Beach Links as well as celebrities like Kevin Costner, Al Michaels, Kenny G, Dan Marino and other notables.
A premiere event like this that will be televised worldwide receives the same attention to detail and customer service as every other job we do. The wind and storms have made this installation more difficult than in years past, primarily due to the high wind that comes off of the ocean. We have had to send crews out to reinstall fence from the prior day and in some cases more than once to the same site.

Hanson & Fitch, Inc. was hired again this year to set temporary fence for office for the San Francisco New Years Eve Event.
The event has traditionally brought thousands of people to the Embarcadero to watch the firework/pyrotechnic show at the strike of midnight.
We typically set up the fence a few days before the event to allow the many other vendors that will be bringing their services to the Embarcadero time to set up their booths for this very exciting night.
Our image of the fence panels we supplied was taken a few days before the event. The weather on New Year’s Eve was excellent and all had a great time.

Hanson & Fitch Temporary Site Services had the request to deliver (8) panels to the Oakland Zoo today to help with the containment of the zoo animals.
With all of the media attention over the recent tragedy at the San Francisco Zoo, we took special note as to the use of the panels that were delivered to the Oakland Zoo on Mountain Blvd. We were told that the fence panels were going to be used as temporary fencing for certain walkways in and around the zoo during construction.
This is the second request that Hanson & Fitch Temporary Site Services has had from a zoo for temporary fencing and we believe that there will be a trend for fencing that will be used as security and crowd containment in and around local zoos in the Bay Area.

Friday, we had an interesting request from Stanford University Event Department.
We had a request for temporary fencing for a large bicycle race that is coming to California in February 17, 2008. The race is called the 2008 Amgen Tour of California, which will display 17 professional cycling teams to compete in a world class cycling race across California.
There will be 136 athletes that show up for the event and it will start in Palo Alto. The field of both international and domestic cyclists includes teams based in Luxembourg, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark, as well as several elite American groups, including the local Fairfield-based Jelly Belly Cycling team.
The request was for 6′ temporary fencing, which is a standard size when it comes for enclosing an area for an event. As the conversation continued with David Cappelloni, who was organizing the event, mentioned that he was going to hire a full crew of people to pick up the Universities bike racks that were placed around campus for the event and that this was going to take many man hours to accomplish this task. I asked David if he had seen our green bike rack barricade that many of our customers use in their events as bike racks to hold the bikes in place during the event.
I sent him a few pictures and the rest was history…..we were able to present a reasonable cost solution that saved the University money and allowed Hanson & Fitch Temporary Site Services to coordinate the entire installation and removal for the event.
Stanford University is expecting 1000 bikes to be parked on campus for the event. It should be a great Event

Temporary Fencing and Toilets isn’t what many would consider a sexy business, but it’s a solid, stable business and with all the construction, our temporary fence panels and portable toilets are always in demand.
We just recently added portable toilets to our temporary services because it seemed like more often than not on most job sites there was a problem for the client with coordinating the delivery of fencing and toilets. This detail would probably seem insignificant to the average person, but for event coordinators or construction site foremen it is a major fly in the ointment.
We at Hanson & Fitch are dedicated to growing our business into the best temporary services company in the San Francisco Bay area. When we say best we mean quality - in product and service.
We will be using this blog to showcase our products, job sites and events throughout the Bay area as a means of familiarizing our potential clients with our temporary fencing and portable toilets. But more than that, we want this to be an open forum where we can acknowledge our clients and invite their feedback to help us achieve our goals of best in product and service.
Temporary Fence & Portable Toilets - not something you ever think about until you need them!
