One of the familiar growing pains that I go through each year is having ensuring that our truck fleet with be reliable and functional during the year.

There are challenges in transporting our temporary fence products and portable sanitation toilets and VIP Trailers. Our products are heavy to carry and bulky in design. You just do not open your trunk of your car and drive to a customers site.

A friend once told me that we are in the “moving business” He was right and we take our delivery commitments very seriously.

We recently purchased a Ford 350 Dual Rear Drive Truck that has the capabilities of pulling any of our 9 trailers in the yard, but more importantly it will do it safely and carry 6 men to the job site at the same time.

In the future, we may have 5 or 6 of these wonderful trucks. They can do just about anything we need. In our business, we need to be versatile and that means investing in trucks that have more than one purpose and weight pulling capacity.

mowry_avenue_fremontComprehensive Builders is a contractor from Utah, that specializes in all types construction and design of new facilities that are located in highly visible locations. We received a call from their lead point of contact Danny that had requested information about our services.

He explained that the project was a highly visible property on Mowry Avenue in Fremont, CA and that he would be receiving sign ed contracts within a day and needed temporary fencing and a portable toilet for the project.

We exchanged information and the next day he called back and explained that we had the most competitive full service bid for all of the site services that he needed and that we were to schedule him ASAP.

Hanson & Fitch Temporary Site Services was able to meet his criteria of a complete installation in 48 hours and there will probably be additional fencing that will be needed as the project continues. We are pleased to have been introduced to Danny and his team from Comprehensive Builders and we thank them for their business.

toilet_trailerI was talking with one of our long time customers, Shawn Casey at the Pebble Beach Company. We were discussing some of the additional site services we were adding, as we try to do with our customers from time to time.

I explained that we are now offering portable toilets with weekly service in the area and that we were trying hard to grow this new business. Shawn listened and responded with,”We currently have a portable toilet on a trailer and would consider changing to you guys, since we know you will do a good job and the products are brand new”.

I quickly told Shawn that it would be great and that we would get back to him ASAP.

The toilets are no problem, but the trailer was going to need to be a perfect fit for this kind of application. Believe it or not the trailer needs to be stable not just on the back of the truck, but more importanly when someone is inside and the trailer is not connected to the truck.

We found a great fit and our toilet is “getting a set of wheels” as we speak. the trailer is a bright red in color and is licensed by the Department of Transportation and is street legal.

We thank Shawn for his business and look forward to seeing more toilets on trailers in the near future.

iButtonHanson & Fitch installs GPS units in portable toilets

The iButton is a computer chip enclosed in a 16mm thick stainless steel can. it is unique and durable and can travel with a person or object anywhere they go. The steel iButton can be mounted virtually anywhere because it is rugged enough to withstand harsh environments, indoors or outdoors. It is small and portable enough to attach to a key fob, ring, watch, or other personal items, and be used daily for applications such as access control to buildings and computers, asset management, and various data logging tasks.

This technology has allowed us to grow on top of a platform that is smart business. It allows us to do inventory control, distribution of product and services, and control over billing. We can grow as large as we want and still manage to see the details that each customer sees on their respective job site and or event.

This will save the company thousands of dollars a year. The whole system is digitized now - we know where they are at all times and it is all integrated into our billing system.

The Pro Am Golf Tournament is over, but people are still sharing their great Monterey experience!

This years AT&T Golf Event at Pebble Beach drew record crowds. A week of heaven sent weather that made the event extra special.

We met people from all around the San Francisco Bay Area and many mentioned that the energy of the ocean, warm wind, and sunshine put smiles on the faces of most spectators. The best weather was definitely seen on the final days, Saturday & Sunday.

The feedback was that the golf courses were in excellent condition. The announcers of the television broadcast repeatedly said, “…they are in the best shape I have ever seen”.

Along with the manicured lawns of Pebble Beach, Poppy Hills & Spanish Bay, were the friendly staff and employees of all three world class facilities. This year is going to be hard to beat and now it is time to take all the tents, temporary fencing, and grand stands down for another day!

water-tanks.jpgWe’re adding a “fresh water” service to be added to our list of temporary site services.

Many times a construction site or event will have the need for an office trailer that acts as their headquarters for the project. This trailer is a symbol of a central location that often requires people to be on site to accept deliveries and or coordinate the entire project.

Fresh water is needed to run the most basic of services inside of the trailer, such as running water for the sink and or restroom. Once the trailer arrives to the site, the customer is often left on their own to find water for their trailer. Since Hanson & Fitch is delivering temporary fence and sanitation services already, it is a natural fit to compliment the needs of the market place.

The fresh water tanks consist of a 500-1000 gallons of water, the water pump, and all the necessary plumbing that is needed to connect to the trailer.

One call covers - temporary fencing, portable toilets and fresh water for your construction site or event 1-800-847-7037

att-047.jpgTodd Fitch and Sergio Gomez led the team of professional scoreboard installers today to install the legendary Calligraphy Board at the AT&T Pebble Beach Golf Tournament. The Calligraphy board is a very special part of the event, largely due to the effort that it takes to keep it current/accurate. In most of today’s sporting events you will find spectators looking at electronic screens to capture the day’s happening and player results. The Calligraphy board is a work of art and is updated with beautiful Calligraphy handwriting to capture the essence of how a player performed.

This style of record keeping brings the audience back to the day’s when golf was first organized. It is a real treat and one that is often over looked during the event at Pebble Beach.
